Convert PNG to SVG
Adaver vectorizes PNG icons, logos, game sprites and flat illustrations: it traces each one into an SVG made of real vector shapes. Compare the result with your image, fix colors and stray shapes in the browser, and end up with a drawing that stays sharp at any size.
PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, BMP or GIF; large images take longer. Uploads are deleted after 24 hours.
Example

A PNG game sprite traced into an SVG with 6 colors, using the default settings and no edits by hand.
How to convert PNG to SVG
Add your PNG
Choose a PNG, drop it on the upload box or paste it with Cmd+V or Ctrl+V. If you aren't logged in yet, the image waits in your browser while you log in or make an account.
Check the trace
Adaver traces the image and opens it in Studio, the editor. In Compare view, drag across the picture to move the divider between pixels and vectors. Adjust the trace settings, and the live preview follows.
Edit and download
Recolor shapes, delete any you don't want and merge near-identical colors. Anything you change can be undone. With Pro, download the drawing as SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF or PNG, or copy its SVG code.
Why convert a PNG to SVG
A PNG is a grid of pixels, so it blurs or turns blocky when you scale it up. An SVG stores outlines and fills instead, which keeps the same file sharp as a small app icon or a wide banner.
Those outlines stay editable. Designers can recolor or rearrange parts in Figma, and developers can paste an SVG inline and style it with CSS. For flat art with a handful of colors, the SVG is often smaller than the PNG it came from.
Which PNGs vectorize well
Flat colors and crisp edges give the cleanest result: logos, icons, flat illustrations and game sprites. Small exports give the tracer few pixels for each curve, so if the PNG came from a design tool, export it again at 2x or larger first.
Photos and soft gradients saved as PNG are a different case. Each shift in shade is traced as a separate flat shape, often thousands of them, so a picture like that is usually better left as a PNG.
Questions
Is this PNG to SVG converter free?
Partly. Tracing and editing cost nothing with a free account, within fair use. Downloading, exporting and copying the SVG code need Pro, a monthly plan, and each new version or format you download uses 1 credit. Without Pro, Studio shows a protected preview and the file isn't sent to you. See the pricing page for the current price.
Is the SVG made of real vector paths?
Yes. Adaver traces the outline of each color area and writes it as a vector path. Your PNG isn't embedded inside the SVG, which is why every part can be selected, recolored or deleted.
How do I get the SVG into Figma?
Download it with Pro, then drag the file onto the Figma canvas or use Figma's import. Figma turns it into vector layers you can edit like any other. An Adaver plugin for Figma is being built, but it isn't available yet; use the contact page to hear when it's out.
What happens to my PNG after I upload it?
It is kept for 24 hours, then deleted together with every version and export made from it. Studio also lets you delete it before then. Nothing you upload is used for training.
