Turn your logo into a vector
Lost the original file and only have a PNG or JPG of your logo? Adaver traces it into vector shapes you can edit, so it stays sharp on a business card, a sign or a shirt. Fix the colors in the browser, then download it as SVG, PDF, EPS or DXF.
PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, BMP or GIF; large images take longer. Uploads are deleted after 24 hours.
Example
Say your logo is a two-color mark on white, saved as a small PNG for a website. Traced, it becomes a few shapes: the two colors and the white background. Merge any extra shades along the edges, delete the white shape if you want a transparent background, and the logo can be printed at any size.
How to vectorize a logo
Upload the logo
Choose, drop or paste the largest, cleanest copy you have. A logo on a plain background traces best; a small or blurry copy gives the tracer less detail to follow.
Match the colors
In Studio, merge similar colors until the logo has only its real colors, recolor any that drifted, and delete stray specks. Slide the divider in Compare view to check it against your original.
Download the formats you need
With Pro, download SVG for websites and Figma, PDF or EPS for printers and sign makers, and DXF for cutting. Each format comes from the same drawing and uses 1 credit the first time.
Which format to use
SVG is for websites, apps and Figma: it scales without blur and every shape stays editable. PDF and EPS are the files most printers and sign makers ask for.
DXF is for laser cutting, vinyl and CNC; set its size in your software, since the file has no units. PNG is there for the apps that still want a pixel image.
Before you start
Make sure you have the right to use the logo: your own brand, a client's with their permission, or one licensed for your use. Tracing a logo doesn't change who owns it.
Questions
Can I vectorize a blurry or small logo?
Yes, but the result follows what the tracer can see. Use the biggest copy you can find, then try other trace settings in Studio and delete or recolor stray shapes. A very small logo may lose fine details, such as thin lines or small lettering.
Will the text in my logo stay editable text?
No. Letters are traced as shapes, like the rest of the logo. They keep their look, but you can't retype them; for new wording, set the text again in your design tool.
Is it free to convert a logo to vector?
Tracing and editing are free with an account, within fair use. Downloading the logo as SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF or PNG needs Pro, a monthly plan, and each new version or format uses 1 credit; see the pricing page for the price.
What happens to my logo file?
Adaver deletes it after 24 hours, along with every version and export, and you can delete it sooner from Studio. Uploads are never used for training.
